TANG LUNG

So fast one month past and next week onwards will be the Nine Long Coconuts (in hockien)?? Lol.. that’s the best translation I can give since I’m a banana aka someone who don’t even know how to write her own Chinese name. It’s vegetarian week for a lot of people though I never try before.

Better hurry post up my Lantern Festival Celebration story before it is way way outdated. Ehehehe…

I love to celebrate anything that has connection with the word FUN. So this wonderful festival surely will not be exempted. What so nice? Anything that can gather people and fool around is nice(Ehem in the good way type of fun lar.. not dot dot dot type of fooling k.. lol).

I know I’m slow in updating my blog but that is all because of I’m busy mar.. What to do. Have to be a daughter, friend, sister, girlfriend, and a coach for everybody else. Oish… I’m so puny and yet so many responsibilities. Well that’s Jolyn’s life, always trying to do as much as she can in life. I will try my best to update my blog more often.

This year I celebrated with the Lim’s Association. Wanted to go gurney drive but afraid it might not be as fun and will waste all my effort on going all the way there due to some past experience. Lazy to story that one, will just stick with the present. Not bad this year as it falls on weekend so I can go there early and enjoy without rush.

Wedding Bliss

Happy occasion such as wedding is really powerful, enough to push aside all people grudges against one another. I’m happy everyone is busy creating a marital bliss for the couple rather than angry at each other. The occasion just pulls everyone together. Very cooling to the eyes, but bring warmness to the heart. I love it. Feel like getting married myself.. AHAA… still years to come.. years to come..

My cousin Norman and his newly wed wife have been couple for 11 years!!! 11 years!!! Praise to the flourishing couple. They stay true to each other through the rain and shine. They seriously are a true loving couple.

auntie yam char, uncle lim teh

Sweet sweett...

Their wedding is held in Sentosa Regency Hotel, Alor Star. My aunts and uncles came all the way from KL to be apart of their wonderful occasion. This did wonder to my Kodak moment. =)

One of my closest aunties, Aunty Jackie is so sneaky. She shocked the hell out of me when I saw her. She lost weight and she walk down the red carpet looking remarkably gorgeous and glamorous until to the point I have to ask my cousin is that my aunty who I think she is. Gosh, she followed the diet I taught her and shed all the pounds secretly. Never in my mind will she be serious enough to follow what I taught because it needs a lot of will. She did it and that just make me proud because she gain all the confident she should be having for her beauty the God gave to her.

This day is simply a blissful day for me and my family. LOVe love love….

Mr Lim, Mrs Lim, Miss Lim.. lai dinner ^^

This is the second time I followed bb to Lim Association Annual Dinner. Here you can find Mr.Lim, Mrs. Lim, Ms. Lim and Madam Lim too. During dinner I can hear 2 or 3 people who have the exact same name with ah b. hohoho.. so surrounded by Lims ^^

I’m not really fond of dinner as a lot of food they served I couldn't eat because I’m allergic to seafood. Not really a bad thing lar because I end up eating half of the food they presented (won’t gain pound easily if I have a lot dinner to attend =P). I said I’m not fond of going but the reason I still go besides being polite is I Get to Doll up! Okay.. I may sound a little vain here but back to reality please, who doesn’t like to look pretty or look at pretty people?? Ehem.. I was saying about the dinner, the food they served is not bad and the performance was great especially by B's cousin.

Ow yea, before I went to the dinner I manage to stop by at Sunway Carnival to give Eleave Beauty & Slimming Centre’s road show a support. I’m their loyal customer for acute pressure massage, if you haven get to know what is it yet, it is the best remedy for pressure and nerves. They promotes blood circulation, detoxify and tons more benefits. I simply couldn’t live without it. SERIOUSLY!!

Splash Away~~

This is my third year celebrating Songkran or more well known as Water Festival. I usually celebrate at Penang island except for this year. It was the first year that the state’s Songkran Festival is held on the mainland. Lim Guan Eng our new chief minister who made the changes. He said there are 7 temples in our state and the festival will be celebrated in different temples every year.

Nice move I must say, otherwise I won’t even know that at Bukit Mertajam have a Wat or two (the other one is the one where mistakenly went in and end up seeing the whole place is empty and nearly gave up and go to the island's Wat instead). I have some dificulties in finding this Wat Rajaphohong Buddhist Temple that situated in Ara Kuda, Bukit Mertajam. I never even have been near to that road before.

Thanks to TCC's direction, otherwise I would have miss out a whole load of fun. We reached just right on time, right before me and B looses our mind due to the kids (his 2 bro and a sis + my sis = S.O.S.) whining and questioning on why we took so long to reach.

“The Thai New Year (Thai: สงกรานต์ Songkran) is celebrated every year on 13 April to 15 April. It is also celebrated in Laos (called pi mai lao or 'Lao New Year' in Lao), Cambodia, Myanmar (where it is called Thingyan), and by the Dai people in Yunnan, China. Sri Lanka also celebrates a similar festival called Sinhalese and Tamil New Year coincide with this festival, and in India, the Assamese, Bengali, Oriya,Tamil, Punjabi, and Malayali New Years fall on the same dates. “ wikipedia.

I thought Songkran is the New Year for Thais only until now. Besides throwing water to each other, people who celebrate Songkran go to Wat (Monastery) to pray and give food to monks but I went there feed myself and play (OOPs.. shouldn’t have mention that don’t I.. @@”).

Oh well, Songkran is also about making New Year resolutions - to refrain from bad behavior (I wonder if my naughtiness is consider bad?!), or to do good things (be naughty but nice?? lol). It is a time for cleaning and renewal (Sound like some facial wash slogans ^^).

They have stalls selling foods and various items.

They even have DVD stall??!!

They have tradition such as carry handfuls of sand to their neighborhood monastery in order to recompense the dirt that they have carried away on their feet during the rest of the year. The sand is then sculpted into stupa-shaped piles and decorated with colorful flags. I see they made a competition out of that ritual.

Judges giving marks to the sand competition

Pardon me but the stupa-shaped look like poop

wait-a-min..
I'm missing something here..

Water Festival.. Sure must blog about the SPLASHES right?! lol
All i can say is SplashTastic!! The splash is not only limited to buckets, pails or water guns but even the fire-engines also came and hoses us down. It’s like war out there; everybody is splashing at somebody and throwing talcum powder like its FOC. Hours of splashing water seems just like a moment only until the kids came and surrendered saying they can’t take it no more then only we realised it's already FOUR hours of splashes. When we head home, the revelers there are not done yet but i know we are^^.

"we're fully loaded!"

It's WAR out there!!

Me and my army ^^.

My.. my.. b's all wet..

Can't wait for next year...
